"How much CBD oil should I give my dog?  Start with 2mg of CBD for every 10 lbs of pet weight.

If you've never given your dog CBD before, this is the perfect place to start. We use a high-quality broad-spectrum hemp extract in our CBD oils, so your pet is definitely getting the good stuff !

Tip! If your dog won't go for oil on it's own, you can offer CBD oil to them mixed with a little bit of their favorite treat. Might we suggest a spoonful of peanut butter?

Be consistent while you evaluate results.

Some dogs take CBD oil as part of their daily regimen, others only use it as an occasional supplement to deal with situational issues (like fireworks, trips to the vet, and being left alone). Whichever way you plan to use CBD with your dog, be consistent until you understand what works best for them. We recommend giving your dog CBD 2x a day, 4-8 hours between servings, for at least 3 days to get a good baseline.

Don’t be afraid to experiment!

There is no one-size-fits-all CBD solution - factors such as your dog’s size, metabolism, and condition will all impact how CBD works for them. Adjust by ½ serving as needed and go from there! (And don’t worry, our Broad Spectrum CBD oil is safe and natural. Your dog will NOT overdose on CBD!)

* Hemp Strain = Umpqua

Umpqua is a hemp flower strain that means “across the waters” or “thundering waters” in Native American. It has one of the highest levels of trichomes ever seen in a hemp strain and is known for its particularly complex flower structure. Its taste is also surprisingly similar to its smell, which is a very rare occurrence.

Umpqua is one of the more attractive varieties of hemp which though lacking in density, its structure is near-perfect. Frosty and beautiful, these buds are a perfect consistency and ground up to a soft, fluffy finish that works great for rolling in joints and using in a dry herb vaporizer.

It boasts an appearance of buds that are covered in a thick blanket of perfectly-developed trichomes which contrast charmingly with the patches of dark brown pistils and green leaves.

It has a fresh piney and earthy aroma with a strong, sweet undertone. Due to its long curing process, the Umpqua smoke is both smooth and pleasant.  Umpqua is a fantastic strain for the morning and leaves the user feeling refreshed and at ease, with a clear head, which the perfect mindset for any task. It also has a marked effect on mood anxiety. It is highly recommended as a great strain to start the day or add some zest into one’s day.

Strain Type

Umpqua is an indica leaning hybrid strain. It has 18% CBD and 0.3% THC. It also has high amounts of CBDA.

Origin

This is a Native American strain whose exact lineage is a well kept secret.

Terpene Profile

Hemp strains would not be what they are were it not for terpenes. For starters, it would be hard to tell one cultivar apart from the other because all of them would be odorless, how disappointing. Apart from this, the effects of different cultivars would not be as pronounced as they are on the usual. This is because terpenes potentiate the interaction of cannabinoids with the endocannabinoid system through a mechanism known as the entourage effect. Umpqua is a terpene dense strain. Four terpenes however dominate the pack; myrcene, pinene, limonene and caryophylene. When myrcene is present in a hemp strain it will give the strain a strong skunk-like odor.

  • Myrcene compliments the anti-inflammatory effects of cannabinoids that are present in this strain.
  • Limonene is a citrus scented terpene that is common in nature as well as in the rind of citrus fruits. Expect to find limonene in high amounts in lemons, oranges, and tangerines. It helps to elevate the mood and it also has anti-inflammatory properties as well.
  • Pinene elicits the odor of a pine forest. It helps to improve short- term memory thereby countering the effects of THC on memory. It also helps in treating cardiovascular conditions.
  • Caryophylene is present in spices and has a peppery aroma. It has analgesic benefits.
